Missing Turf Already

It was an awesome two weeks on turf I learned so much and am missing it already.  I got to put the striped wave cut into the canal panals which looked awesome.  We also mowed the top terrace, country garden, and rose garden.  The grass was getting long in the rock garden so we took our mulch mowers there and mowed the very rough steep banks.  It was a lot of fun because extra care had to be taken to avoid plants and use safe techniques on the slopes.  Also  I got a tutorial on basic mower maintenance including checking oil, blade sharpening, and spark plugs.  I was able to sharpen the blade of the mower I had been using while I was there which was awesome.  Most of the week was spent collecting all the leaves that have been falling the garden.  They are collected and then sent to be made into leaf compost.  On Tuesday I went down to the compost piles from the garden and got a look into the composting of the garden.  The sheer size of the pile of the rubbish that comes from the garden is amazing the pile was as big as a small house.  Eventually this pile gets shredded and then continually turned until the mulch is produced.  Temperatures of the compost windrows are taken once a week to monitor the temperature to make sure it isn't to hot or cold so the proper reactions are occuring for the decomposition process.  Everyone on turf was super nice and made my two weeks very enjoyable.  I wouldn't mind going back and doing so more mowing!
